Manufacturing Process
The manufacturing process of Denim Fabric includes the various process:
- Warping - It is the process of transferring multiple yarns, each on a separate yarn package, onto a single collecting package.
- Dyeing - Most denim fabric is yarn-dyed; the warp yarns are dyed with indigo, and the filling yarns(weft yarn) are left undyed.
- Sizing - The main purpose of sizing warp yarns is to encapsulate the yarn with a protective coating. This protective coating reduces yarn abrasion during weaving. The size also reduces yarn hairiness, preventing adjacent yarns from becoming entangled
- Weaving - It is interlacing two sets of yarn and making fabric. One set is called warp thread which is in sheet form, the other one is called weft thread which is inserted between two layers of warp sheet by means of a suitable carrier i.e. Shuttle, Projectile, Rapier, Air current, Water current, etc. Depending upon the type of the weaving machines.
- Finishing - Fabric finishing is the last stage in the production of denim. In this stage treatment is given to change the appearance, touch or performance of a fabric. The goal is to enhance the fabric beyond its natural state to make it better suited for whatever its purpose is.
- Packing - The fabric is wrapped in the form of rolls. Rolls are then wrapped in plastic foil for protection.
